Dr. Koji Takasugi
I am Dr. Koji Takasugi, the president of Toyota Acupuncture Salon HAL.
I was born in Toyota City and grew up in a family of doctors for many generations. I have wanted to contribute to the medical care in this area for a long time, and it has been a year and a half since I opened my clinic.
As a doctor, I have treated many patients for a long time, but at TOYOTA Acupuncture Salon HAL, I would like to offer “acupuncture and moxibustion”, a treatment that can move the “mind” and “body” forward, which cannot be achieved only at a clinic.

Thoughts on TOYOTA Acupuncture Salon HAL
I am a rheumatologist and a person who values evidence (scientific evidence). On the other hand, I have experienced, for example, that there are patients with rheumatoid arthritis who still suffer from persistent pain even when their arthritis is in remission.
Persistent pain…
In many cases of so-called “chronic pain,” in addition to treating the disease, it is important to use psychological approaches and treatments to regulate the pain cycle.
In rheumatoid arthritis, for example, the pain may persist even though the treatment is effective and the arthritis has subsided.
The cause of this is often a condition that makes the patient feel pain more easily, such as fibromyalgia, or a condition that is not arthritis, such as myofascial pain.
In addition, prolonged pain is not only related to the disease, but also to the state of mind, such as “anxiety, depression,” which is also related to pain.
I want to make sure those pains get better too.
With this in mind, I have been thinking about ways to get rid of pain for a long time, studying Chinese medicine as well as standard treatments for pain, becoming a certified psychologist, taking a course on hydrolysis, and so on.
In the process, I came across this,
pain” and “mind (heart).
I have been thinking about how to get rid of pain.
As a physician, I expect two main things from acupuncture and moxibustion.
These are “the hybrid effect of Western and Oriental medicine” and “the approach to mental anxiety as well as pain.
From a physician’s standpoint, I believe it is important to continue treatment with the lowest risk combination possible in order to bring the disease “under good control”.
And “acupuncture and moxibustion” is the perfect method for this very idea.
*There is a wide range of conditions and diseases for which acupuncture is recommended or positively evaluated in international guidelines.
For example, the same “pain-free” condition is less stressful to the internal organs without painkillers than with painkillers that make it more bearable. In particular, I am a board-certified nephrologist and would like to reduce the use of painkillers that put a burden on the kidneys.
I would like to add to the hospital treatment I usually receive,
I would be happy if acupuncture and moxibustion can add to the effects of your usual hospital treatment and bring you closer to a better overall state of health.
*National and international guidelines that acupuncture and moxibustion are considered useful

The irreplaceable happiness of being in good physical condition
The irreplaceable happiness of being in good physical condition
The key to maintaining good physical condition is the addition of good habits.
Get a good night’s sleep
You’ll be tired and have time to relax.
No pain or stiffness
I’m at peace.
I can smile.
I’m going to love myself.
Through acupuncture and moxibustion, I hope to help you to a good physical condition.
I created the logo of Toyota Acupuncture Salon HAL to convey my thoughts and experiences by turning them into images.
We want to remove your I (*ITAMI)
I want to remove it with *HALI
The logo incorporates the image of “removing pain with acupuncture”, which is the reason why HAL was opened. The logo incorporates the idea of “to improve physical pain and mental pain through acupuncture and moxibustion”.
*ITAMI=Meaning of pain in Japanese
*HALI=Meaning of acupuncture in Japanese
If your mind and body are free,
I can go anywhere and do anything.
I want you to have a free body and mind that is as light as a feather and as willing to go anywhere as a ship, and I want you to be as free as this logo, which is an image of a big ship with wings.
These words and thoughts that I always cherish
I hope you will experience these words and thoughts that I always cherish at TOYOTA Acupuncture Salon HAL!
When I take care of a patient,
I think of it as “making the patient’s life better.”
There are many things in life, some good, some bad, and some pre-existing conditions.
Doctors who study diseases tend to think only about the disease, but since I am a general internist, a rehabilitation specialist, and a licensed psychologist, I try to take a broader perspective and find “the maximum happiness for the person” in my practice.
I look forward to steering you in the right direction so that your life can move in the right direction!
